Overview

theplaymaker is a personal investment portfolio monitoring tool. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. This is used solely to identify your account and personalize your experience.

Portfolio data (tickers, purchase prices, quantities) that you enter or import is stored securely and associated with your account.

We do not collect payment information, browsing history, or any data beyond what you explicitly provide.

Google account access

theplaymaker uses Google Sign-In for authentication. We request the following permissions:

• Basic profile — name and email, for account identification.
• Google Sheets — to export your portfolio data to a Google Spreadsheet that you own. We only write to sheets you explicitly authorize; we never read, delete, or share your spreadsheets.

You can revoke these permissions at any time from your Google Account settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions).

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the features of theplaymaker: portfolio tracking, price monitoring, AI analysis, and optional export to Google Sheets.

We do not use your data to train machine learning models, serve advertisements, or build user profiles for third parties.

Data storage

Account and portfolio data is stored in Upstash Redis (Vercel KV), hosted in the United States. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Third-party services

theplaymaker integrates with the following external services to provide its features:

• Google OAuth — authentication
• Yahoo Finance — real-time and historical price data
• Financial Modeling Prep — fundamental financial data
• FRED (Federal Reserve) — macroeconomic indicators
• Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered investment analysis
• AssemblyAI — audio transcription for briefings

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
